Sankofa. Headwrapping is an ancient and current spiritual and culture tradition. In Afrikan tradition headwraps have different meanings. In Yoruba they are referred to as geles. During the transatlantic kidnapping of our people, one reason women were forced to wrap their hair was to hide their beauty so the colonizers would not be attracted to them. We are beautiful with and without; that is no doubt. Today we continue to honor and cherish the practices of our ancestors pre and post the transatlantic atrocities. I am blessed, you are blessed, we are blessed as we come and as we go. Headwraps ($18) SHIPS IN US ONLY
